Rest easy...!!!
If the Car was insured, your boyfriend is insured. The damage to the car may not be if there was no "comprehensive" coverage. Your father's insurance company can deal with that.
Your father ( and your boyfriend) can make claims against the other driver. Your father can chose not to, but your boyfriend can STILL file a claim for medical / personal injury against the other driver. (if he chooses this option, typically he would also file against your father's insurance.)
Contact your father's insurance company and explain the situation... they will walk you through it and or contact him.
Your boyfriend's hospital bill will be paid, either by your father's or the other driver's insurance.
Try to contact you father as soon as possible, but don't fret... everyone is "safe"
God Bless!!
