My son was arrested for graffiti. Went to court twice. Now we are told to go again next month and bring a lawyer. 2 others are charged with this also. Will I have to pay a large fine? Can I get a public defender, and where? Can we go before a magistrate or judge? Live in CT.

If your son was arrested he has the constitution right to an attorney at the States expense. Contact the Ct. Bar. Association to inquire as to representation.

http://www.ctbar.org/ they will be able to provide names to assist with this. Or the courts themselves should have appointed an attorney for him at time of arraignment.
