I own in a mobile home and it is in a mobile home park in California. No. rent control. I started working on June 5th and notified the manager that I was going to be late with my rent because I didn't get my first check until the 20th. They said okay, but next time it's late, we won't accept it. On June 12th, while I was at work, the assistant manager handed my 8-year old daughter a 3-day, 60-day notice. I didn't think anything of it because I already notified them and they said it was okay. The day my check arrived, I called the manager's office again and said that I will be in to pay the rent. I asked what time they were in the office until. They told me 3:00 p.m. I stated that I did not get off work until later. They said if no one is there, then drop it in the door slot. On my way home, I stopped at the managers office, but no one was there, so I dropped it in the door slot. Three days later, I get a letter in the mail from their attorney, with my rent money returned. The letter stated that they could not accept my untimely payment, vacate the premises and turn possession over to the managers. My 60-day notice was up on August 11, 2006. How long after the notice is up, is the unlawful detainer served on me? I'm still waiting for it because I am taking this all the way.
