Ive got a car on finance and pay for it by DD over 5

Ive got a car on finance and pay for it by DD over 5 years, i have 3 and a half years left but do not want the car no more? How do i go about stopping the finance - will i have to pay a penalty, do they just take the car back??? Please help!1
